The Life of Kana Moon

 

Kana Moon was born into the Moons as the third child on the opposite side of a town called Halsworthy.Along with many other siblings that have contact with her, such as Takabane Moon, her older brother.As soon as she was able to walk, her father began to teach her english , learning faster than most in at age 1. Locals would say that she was very strange looking, almost like a demon due to her appearance, as it was not common in the family to have red hair and blue eyes. This made her very self-conscious and have a low self esteem.

 

Just like her brother, she also was taught between the ages of 1-6 on how to defend herself by her father. She would be given a stick at age 5 by him and told to mimic it like a katana, often battling her father and often besting him as the years passed.At age 7, she was given a real katana, always making mistakes but eventually as she got older, she made strange but successful techniques that she later explained to her father.

 

Whilst learning how to use a katana, she also taught herself hand-to-hand combat, knowing that she may not always have access to a weapon. She also was taught ranged combat, learning with a bow and hitting the target with alarming accuracy. Impressing her father and brother at age 10.

 

Since she was a girl, her father had planned to marry her off to some oafish butcher's boy. Kana, opposed to this ridiculous idea, threatened to run away, her father locked her in her room and barred the windows so she couldn't escape from her room or their town. The wedding was called off but she still retained the white dress which was remarkably simple and accented with gold, she had put this away, of course, for safe-keeping. 

 

Kana, wandering around the market one day, weeks after her parents had passed finally met her older brother, Takabane Moon, and the rest of her siblings. They all continued to live their lives without their parents.

Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
