There once was a boy who grew up within the rule of the Holy Orenian Empire. As this boy grew into a man, he underwent many challenges and learned a great deal about business practices and negotiation from his father. This Heartlander man, named Terous Dontulus, reminded himself of the many lessons taught to him by his father. His early years were some the best years of his life. He spent them playing, but also learning so that one day he could run his family's business. Playing and working at the shop was all the same to Terous. He found both to be a game and he liked challenges. For he was not one to back down from a challenge. He was once dared to climb the largest tree on the outskirts of town, which he accomplished after a few tries and a few bruises later. There were good memories of him and his mother too. She always made the best food. Her porridge was the best in town after all. He even had several friends. There was this one girl, Alaynna, who always came to visit him when he was running the shop. She would often tease him for working too much, but this was something he didn't mind, for he enjoyed his good work ethic. However, not every memory of his past was pleasant. He often has nightmares of one fateful night with flames of his family's business scorching around him and support beams crashing down amid all of the chaos. It was this moment when Terous felt most helpless. He had always prepared and studied, feeling confident in himself. Yet, at this moment he felt frozen amidst a roaring blaze of fire. The townfolk all came to help put out the fire, but it roared for hours longer throughout the night. Eventually, things calmed down, but Terous' life was turned upside down as a harsh reality struck. He could not find his parents. The business he was destined to run remained only in ruins. He picked through the rubble and found some charred remains, wearing rings that belonged to his parents. His friend Alaynna came to comfort Terous and took him in for the evening to let him have a place to rest and mourn. Terous stayed with Alaynna's family for about five months, offering to help out with what he could. Soon, he started to recover from his sadness, but there would still always be a void in his heart. Now at the age of twenty and determined again, he hopes to restart his family's business to both honor his family and find his new destiny. Terous has now set out in the Realm of Almaris in search of adventure and to attempt to find a new location to start a business. As he wanders from place to place, he ponders what prospects this new place could hold and if he'll finally be able to find a spot to settle down. The capital of the Holy Orenian Empire, Helena, might be a good place to start. Besides, Terous always dreamed of seeing the famous Novellen Palace, where some of the biggest deals in all of the Empire happen.
Terous eagerly strolls up to the gentleman with a grin. "Good day to your sir. This bazaar brings me to the city in fact. I'm looking for a place to set up shop and sell some wares. Might you know of a good location to start my search?"
