Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Thank you."
Kormund sits and shuffles to find comfort in the itchy fabric.
"Well, I've come far and wide to get here. As for my story, it's a bit of a long one."
Kormund gently shuffles and looks around, clearly uncomfortable opening up about his past.
"My boy. He passed recently. I came from...well, that's irrelevant. I met this beautiful woman. A baker. We quickly found admiration in one another, and she was pregnant soon after."
Kormund lets out a deep sigh.
"We had 8 years with our boy before he died. Slain by a hunter thinking he was an animal."
Kormund looks at the hag for the first time since taking his seat, looking for solace in her gaze.
"My wife left in the night. Left me a note that she had to go somewhere and get away from her boy's grave. I started thinking the same. So I took my steed in the middle of the night and left everything behind. I just want to live now. I need to live again."
Kormund looks down as a single tear rolls down his cheek and lands on his knee.
"I can't see his face anymore."
