Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Visibly confused, Mieszko looks around to assess his surroundings. After a few seconds of deliberation, he sits down. "Well, ma'am, I am Mieszko, a simple fisher's son. I come from a long line of fishes on the island of Vyranni. It is a small island, very cold and full of dragons." Mieszko shudders. "Evil creatures, they are. Although, we lived far to the south of the island, so we generally had to fear not. But, I wanted more with my life, more than fishing, more than this small land. I heard of a great land to the south, where not everywhere is covered in snow, with different types of people. I want to explore, to learn about the world at large. One day, some travelers from the south came seeking trade opportunities. And with them, I found my own chance. I snuck into one of their crates and made my way here." After a little bit of silence, Mieszko chuckles. "So, how is it that you know me?"
