    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is when a player takes reads or uses OOC information to help themselves who is in character... for example Player 1: Hey Anthrax I need your help mining diamonds for that new weapon I'm forging...     In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Power-gaming is when the player is given something he should not have to start with. For example if I were to apply and give my self supernatural abilities, or give myself a legendary weapon.

Thirrean was born an accident from a human mother, and a dwarven father, born in a small village in the mountains of Axios. His mother sadly died in childbirth, and his father took him up as his apprentice in artistry. His father taught him the Umri language in which his father learned from his mother, but other than that he speaks strong Dwedmar, his native language. His father made him his first weapon when he was 9 years old which was the preferred weapon the war axe. Thirrean trained with this formidable weapon for many years, until he locked eyes on a war hammer from an adventure book he read... he then fell in love with this blunt and heavy weapon, and started right away to craft himself one. His father did not approve but he was too old to do anything about it. Thirreans’ father  passed away from complications of age, leaving Thirrean on his own to care for himself. He then took up an adventurous state of living, where he doesn't stay in one place for too long until he moves again to a different farm house or large citie. He and his trusty horse travel to this day  and he hopes he was many more adventures to come.

Physical Description: Shaggy Brown hair, Blue eyes, 216 lbs, and Height:4'1". Wears blue/navy blue attire.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

I like your character's backstory! Simple- but, in a really good way to where it’s not just “He was born, his parents died, and now he’s traveling” in one sentence, and it’s not a really complicated, book-length one either!

Thanks this actually took the same amount of time one of my “easy essays” would take from school. I really put some good thought into this and read over the mountain dwarf and the regular dwarf lore while I was composing this.
