You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Expecting me? I didn't even know I would end up like this when I first started my journey." Erick examines the tent. It gives off an undescribable eeriness that he doesn't like at all. Like there were forbidden secrets hiding under the cushions. Reluctantly Erick steps towards the cushion he was pointed to and sits down. To the man's surprise the cushion feels like sitting atop a cloud. Some otherworldly stench hangs in the air. Everything about this room seems to scream to his senses that he doesn't belong here. He's never felt anything like in this tent and curiosity begins to override the sense of survival. "My story!? It begins with my birth I suppose. You see, I am a Highlander born and brewed. I've lived in Nau Valdev for half my life. Longer even. My parents somehow managed to make ends meet and I helped them out as good as I could. Working on farms, forges, whatever I could find. Not everything went smoothly in our household. The relationship between me and my mother increasingly grew apart over time. In my early twenties all I knew was fighting with her over trivialities. Well, I grew tired of it. When I was 24 I left my parents house for good, trying to make a living on my own. For several years I was a hired sword for whomever needed me and was able to pay me well enough. But I grew tired of it and after 10 years I decided that I need to settle down somewhere and chase a quiet life. This leads me to the present. Sitting on clouds and talking to something that I'm not even sure is entirely real." The Highlander takes a look at the weird hag. She doesn't seem to have moved a single muscle during the monologue. In the contrary it seems like this old woman was replaced by an identical statue of her without anyone realizing. This place out the chills in him since the first step he took in this forsaken place. This is to much. To much eeriness, to much stench, to much clouds. He slowly stands up in an attempt to leave the whole town for good. Seeing that the hag still doesn't seem to have moved an inch Erick runs out of the tent, attempting to get out of here as soon as possible.
