In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Roleplaying with info my character wouldn't actually know about. So, if I learnt about a political situation, for example, that my character didn’t, having my character react to it, talk about it, or even purposefully become a part of it, would be meta
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Doing things more powerful than what my character can realistically or fairly do. So, if my character constantly fought elves much more powerful than him, but then defeated them within 5 minutes while taking no hearts of damage, that would be power

Kasmyr was born 31 years ago in Helena, and has grown up in a poor family. His mother, Harriet Adrovski, died in 1716 when he was young due to being caught in the Siege of Helena. Meanwhile, Kasmyr’s father, Antoni Adrovski, has always been stoic but kind throughout the War of the Two Emperors. He’s taught both Kasmyr and his older sister, Roza (now 34), that no matter how hard life becomes, they must remain strong and motivated, which Kasmyr has tried to follow ever since, but it hasn’t always succeeded, which disappointed his father.

Kasmyr had a best friend when he was young called Aldus, and while they were at school, the two couldn’t be separated, especially because they both came from poor backgrounds. Part of their shared background also led to both of them not doing great at school, but that was part of the bonding to them. Kasmyr noticed he put more effort into it than Aldus, however.

When they left school, they remained in touch, and soon after, Kasmyr found a woman named Elena who was in a better position financially and socially, which neither of them cared about. Kasmyr hated his poor status, while Elena hated her middle-class status. They entered a loving relationship in 1724, and overtime, Kasmyr found himself knowing people all across the Holy Orenian Empire.

In 1726, almost exactly a year after the ascension of Adrian de Sarkozy, which Kasmyr had the privilege of seeing at a relatively close distance, Aldus had enough of his once best friend. The two got into a fight because Aldus strongly disliked Kasmyr rising up the social ladder.

It was a simple misunderstanding: Aldus was jealous of Kasmyr and thought he was being a social parasite while neglecting his friend; Kasmyr thought Aldus was being immature and controlling. Kasmyr’s pride also stopped him from admitting he neglected his friend, as well, which Aldus hated. Regardless, the outcome was Kasmyr and Aldus becoming enemies. Shortly after, Elena left him during the night for an unexplained reason. Kasmyr thinks she agreed with Aldus, but he can’t be sure.

Since then, Kasmyr has tried his best to work at the market, but has also travelled working odd jobs around the continent of Arcas. He even managed to see the reopening of the Eternal Library in 1731, though decided to head back to the Holy Orenian Empire shortly after.

When the nation declared war against the Federation of Mokh-Urak in 1734, Kasmyr has since been hiding from his family, old friends, and the country itself. While he certainly lives on the edge because he works in and around the capital, he finds the life of hiding and inconspicuousness quite enjoyable at times.

Kasmyr looks at the man with suspicion. While he could be a genuine socialite, it’s just as possible he’s a pickpocket or corrupt businessman giving empty promises.

“I’m just a simple man, good sir,” Kasmyr said. “I don’t have any motive, honest. I just enjoy travelling.”

The man looked at him with an almost sly smile.

“So you like the adventure, then”, he said. “I’ve got the thing for you! If you come with me to my shop, I can give you some fantastic advice.”

“I’m just here to travel,” Kasmyr said as he rolled his eyes.

“My apologies, sir,” the man says with a polite bow. “A man can’t help but be curious at times, wouldn’t you agree?”

Kasmyr looked to the side with a sigh before rolling his head back to the man. He didn’t think any person would be this curious by nature, but he couldn’t rule out the possibility of him being genuine. If he said anything more that was dodgy, Kasmyr would have none of it.

The man understood. He bowed his head as he turned back to leave.

“Well, if you change your mind-” the man began.

As he was speaking, Kasmyr ran to him, and with a crash, the two found themselves on the cobblestone with the man’s throat in Kasmyr’s hand.

“Can you be shifty somewhere else?” Kasmyr said, tightening his grip on the man. Kasmyr refused to let other swindlers think they could get a chance.

In order to be accepted onto Lord of the Craft, you’ll have to make a change to your application within 24 hours. Once you’ve finished making the required change, or if you require any assistance, feel free to toss me a message on the forums or to my Discord (Cantankerous Cat#9306) so I can loop back for another review or lend a helping hand.

While the majority of your application is fantastic, I’d like for you to explain powergaming and metagaming further. This is along the lines of saying what someone does as a result of powergaming, what the player’s action would be if they were powergaming or metagaming. Your understanding of it could even be shown in the roleplay scenario!

I look forward to seeing what you come up with! As mentioned, if you’ve any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to reach out to me so we can get them sorted out for you. You could even join the New Player Discord if you want to ask anything else from a variety of folks who’re all ready and willing to help you on your first steps on Lord of the Craft. Good luck!

Congratulations on being accepted to Lord of the Craft!

Being accepted, you’ll be able to join in on the world of Lord of the Craft in mere moments. If you need any guidance whatsoever, you have a great many resources at your disposal, including myself. If you ever need anything from me, you can always reach out to my Discord, Cantankerous Cat#9306, or in-game. My username in that case is Slic3man.

Below are a few additional pieces of information I’d highly recommend looking into, as they can get you a good jump start on finding roleplay on the server.

In the event you have any other questions and you can’t find an answer, we’re always available to provide guidance in-game. When you log in, you can even try out the command /creq by typing in, “/creq Hey, I just joined the server, could I get some help from a Monk?” Anything you say after /creq should go to a Community Team member like myself, so we can help you out with whatever you’re looking for.

Have a wonderful time on the server, and be sure to make that time equally as wonderful for everyone around you!
