In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Meta-gaming is when you have information personally that you project onto your character, despite the fact that your character had know way of knowing said information without being informed by another character in roleplay.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Power-gaming is denying realism by having your character do something that said character shouldn't be able to do, make an unfair move, or giving them god-like abilities.

Asenath was born in a quiet home to loving parents in the heart of Asimu'lei. He grew up an only child and lived in peace. His father was a storyteller, and he often left to other lands for his work, while his mother, a kind-hearted healer stayed home to care for him. She did not resent her husband for his frequent absence and loved little Ase well, raising him and teaching him all she could. When his father came home, Ase would stay up for hours, listening to his father’s grand tales of of the trickster Iblees, as well as detailed recounts of his travelling adventures, places he visited and things he saw. It was such tales that compelled him at a young age to travel the world and experience all that he could in his lifetime. His father was his idol, his hero, and little Ase wanted to be just like him. His childhood was wooden swords, walks in the forest, and pretend-games where he’d imagine he was an explorer, or a great swordsman with his friends. He was taught a great respect for his ancestors, as most Dark Elves were, but his parents didn’t adhere to any specific religion. He was happy, free-spirited and well-educated. He enjoyed shadowing his mother during her time as a healer, and gained a small wealth of knowledge on the body, how it works, and different remedies for physical and mental ailments.

At 15, Asenath’s life took a sudden turn. His father passed away in an accident while travelling.  The death of his hero took a massive toll on Ase’s heart, and he couldn’t seem to move on. He shut himself away from his friends, and even his mother. Feeling broken and hopeless, he became an impulsive and rude youth. Without saying goodbye, he set out on his own to find a new life. At the time, he was simply trying to escape. Escape the place he grew up in, the place that held his memories and the people that held his heart. He was only running away, and deep down he knew that.

During his travels, he learned much of the world, and much of himself. He found friendship and eventually, love.

She was not exquisite and exciting, she was not a grand warrior or a adventurous traveler. She was a human girl, with soft brown eyes, a smile that could light a room, and the bold heart of a lionness. She was his whole heart, and he found peace within her arms. It was through her that he found himself. He realized the hurt he’d caused, especially to his mother. Gone was the rash, angry young man that he was when he began his journey. She taught him to forgive and to love again. With her, he let his guard down and for a time, they enjoyed life together. However, as is the story with anyone, she was not perfect.  She had her own demons. She lied to him about an illness she had been facing, and after a life far too short, she passed away.

Broken yet again, but still a changed person, Ase returned to his birthplace. He was welcomed back by his mother, though he thought himself undeserving. He opened up and shared everything he’d been going through with her, and she grieved with him.

After a period of healing and rest, he finds himself ready to begin again. He doesn’t know exactly what path he desires to take, but he knows it will begin in an journey and he is ready to make his own way in life.

Roleplay Scenario:

Asenath stepped back slightly, a bit surprised to be spoken to so quickly, though he wasn’t sure quite what he expected in a place as this. He smiled respectfully and dipped my head in greeting. “Nothing so grand as to be interesting to you, dear sir,” He paused. “But perhaps a bit of adventure may be what I am looking for, after all.”

Your application has been put on pending, as there are changes needing to be made before you may be accepted, as follows:

  • Your Personality Traits/Quirks need to include at least one negative trait. This can be anything that is a fault in their personality. Simply disliking a certain type of people is not a negative trait.
  • Your Skin is getting there, but is not quite up to LotC standards. I would recommend making some minor changes to the pants and the boots. Or, if you would like to, you can simply visit the skin archive linked below and grab a free skin from there to use.

If you do not make these changes within 24 hours, your application will be denied. When you are finished, please message me on discord @camocat9#9373 to let me know, or if you don’t have a Discord, send me a forum message, and please do ask if you have any questions.

If you still need help, make sure to check the wiki, and I highly recommend joining our discord and reading through the New Player Guide as well.
