    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Being too powerful as a character, or rping in ways your character shouldnt be able to. for example a dwarf can't wield an insanely huge sword/jump super high, etc...

Arten was born in the forests of Atlas to his healer mother and hunter father. Arten was always fascinated with the other races he would see as a child even though they didn’t care for him or his kin, especially the high elves. Arten struggled with hunting after his father lost his arm hunting. Arten instead stuck with the town folk mainly brewing potions or picking herbs.  Arten was traumatized by the violence and bloodshed of the high elven slaughter and went into isolation seeking peace for many years. After coming out of isolation and seeing tensions come down between the elves he decided to seek friendship among as many elves and dwarfs as possible, learning many things. Arten still seeks friendship from the races he grew up so curious about, but also wishes to establish a home/shelter for all races to come together to learn what he has learned. Arten fears violence and ultimately his own death, making him seek strange ways of protection. Arten also suck out peace and understanding from the various religions and faiths of Atlas mainly the dwarven religion and its pantheon of gods especially Dungrimm, the one who carries the soul to the moon to be judged for how they carried out their life. This makes Arten very sympathetic and caring of others, putting others ahead of himself. Arten once visited the dwarven city of Agnarum and was inspired by the detailed architecture and warm heartedness of the dwarfs and their dwarven life style, Arten would often find himself waking up hungover around piles of his drunken dwarven brothers and sisters after a long night of drinking, brawling, and yelling.

Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

- Backstory

 

I deeply apologize for my mistake! You can include a helven slaughter in your backstory.

It is apparent there are several that I was not informed of.

Fret not, as you did not make much changes to the backstory, you should be able to inject it easily as a reason for Arten’s choice to go into isolation.

Please check through your biography for continuity issues before resubmitting.
