Aurora was born in the Silver City to a strange family of the high elven people. While respected, the Hex family were known for their hunger for knowledge; and their frightening pursuits for it. While her ancestors were scholars, librarian's and archeologists; her families later generation's desire for knowledge quickly turned them into trained treasure hunters. Magic was something that came from knowledge, and with it's introduction the family quickly took on a different face. It is only legend now, but the story goes that Aurora's ancestor was offered a book of great magic from a deity. Changed by the magic they harnessed, the Hex family fell into madness and coldness. The generations to come became distinctly known in high elf society for these traits. Aurora remembers her father speaking nonsensically sometimes, in a rhythm and rhyme. He, like his brothers, were deep into the family business of treasure hunting. They profited from it, and fell further and further into madness.
Their death is still a mystery to her. Her father and his brothers left the family quite comfortable with their profits from looting artifacts and magical knowledge, but they had succumb to traps in a series of catacombs where a great treasure was said to be. No one went for their bodies when they didn't return, afraid to suffer the same fate. Although Aurora is angry that recklessness has led to the death of her father and uncles, the years have passed and coming into adulthood she is learning things about herself that she hadn't wanted to previously. Her mouth waters for treasure, and her brain swims in the desire to make the unknown; known. She fights these urges, but knows she will soon succumb to the same fate as her family before her. She wants to be a treasure hunter.
