Hávardr was born in 1633 to a man and a woman who lived in a small village in the vicinity of Vjorhelm. His family was part of a closed group of people who called themselves “Mossgårdians” after Mossgård, a town among the mountains of Vailor, where they originated from.
Hávardr’s father, Finnr was a carpenter and was well-appreciated among the village as a wise man.
Hávardr was 9 years old during the siege of Vjorhelm. Most of the warriors of his village, including Hávardr’s older brother, had been called upon by King Jevan to fight for the city, leaving the village defenseless against the crusaders. When they came, Hávardr’s father was one of the few men to stand up against the crusaders in an effort to defend their homes. Hávardr could only watch as Finnr was beaten up to the point where he couldn’t stand up anymore, and then left to burn in his own house.
Hávardr, together with his mother, escaped, and united with the survivors from other Mossgårdian villages to seek help from others for the first time since they left Valior.
The Mossgårdians became allies with 7 other similar groups of people that were still loyal to Jevan Ruric, and when Axios was overrun, the 8 so-called “Tribes” set sail together for Atlas, with only 6 tribes making it to the cold wilderness in the southern part of the realm only to become a large group of outcasts struggling in the harsh climate of their new cold homeland.
After the death of his mother, only weeks after reaching Atlas, Hávardr has committed his life to helping the people of The Tribes. He has become a skilled hunter and a strong man, also a kind of a leader to the Mossgårdians, but much like his fellow tribesmen, he is quite ignorant of the surrounding world.
Hávardr is fairly proud and arrogant, and often looks down on others, but is also capable of taking care of the Mossgårdians, who he only treats with respect and kindness.
Hávardr is relatively strong and a good hunter. He is quite good with a bow and is able to track his prey for kilometers in the snow, but lacks any experience in the arts of war, and has never wielded a sword in his life.
