Cub’s youth has never been particularly thrilling. Born from a small farming community on the outskirts of Helena, Cub spent the majority of his childhood surrounded by bustling farm life. Besides a handful of times Cub had visited Helena for shopping excursions, Cub had never experienced much more of the outside world. Being a highlander along the outskirts of Helena has given him the opportunity to witness the arrival of many travelers and the tales that they’d bring along with them. With aging came a hunger for knowledge as the whispers of the ongoing world outside became apparent. There weren’t any children that Cub grew up around so his social skills are askew. Despite this, Cub stills enjoys taking part in conversations once that first shy barrier has been broken. Cub’s skills in farming have been a helpful aid to his family and extra set of hands are what helped hold his father’s farm together. His outdoorsy life has been the backbone for attributing to his abilities in surviving. Combat was always frowned upon from his family. Attempts to partake in swordplay were made multiple times with no progress made, usually do to instant denial from his parents along with a lack of funding for a proper trainer. Cub tried practicing and honing his weapon skills in private but has never held a proper blade. Reaching the peak of his teen years, Cub’s desire for something greater had grown to the point of constant arguing between his father. His passion to see the world outside the grange heavily influenced Cub’s decisions. The little amount of money that was able to be scrounged up from additional odd-jobs was enough to equip Cub with a short set of gear for his impending departure. After months of feuding, Cub’s mother finally sided with him and attempted to convey to her husband that her son’s coming of age was something that he himself needed to decided. Half-hardheartedly, they agreed to bestow Cub their blessing to travel forth and see what the world has to offer. The departure was reserved for his 20^th birthday, a symbolic and turning point in his life. His father approached while brandishing a package wrapped in cloth. After unwinding the leather straps around it, Cub was baffled to wield a shabby, grizzled Silver sword. His disbelief had quickly turned to determination to learn the sword’s ways along his journey. After many tears were shed and a final promise to return home one day, Cub had stepped out along the path on his own for the very first time. A young man, still new to the lands of Arcas, undertook a new life of a wanderer. We’ll see what happens next...
