Odette's parents were orthodox follows of the Church of Canon, quite conservative in nature which lead to Odette's upbringing. They raised Odette is an upper middle class household to where she would be taught to be pious and virtuous in ways, citing the scrolls weekly, specifically that of The Scroll of Virtue. Even though Odette was quite sheltered, her parents were not cruel and did make sure to educate her with bringing in many 'exotic' gifts. These 'gifts' were mostly just included textbooks from across the continent pertaining to the cultures all around rather than some exotic pet or carpet. This created a passion for Odette to go out and explore all she could. For she wanted to see this in first person. So, by the age of 18, Odette went out as a proper lady to make a family and a life of her own, excited to meet many of folk from around.
The young woman in question hopped rather quickly off the boat, breathing in the salty - fishy air of the boardwalk which didn't seem to mind the lass in the slightest. For she believed that this was merely apart of the experience to breath in the gross smells of fish, sweat of men, and the salty crisp air of the morning by the sea. Odette rather excited frantically ran about gazing upon that of the unknown sights and sounds before heading into the 'main' area; the market. This place in particular would be of interest for her being that it would revolve around the city's main exports but also the fact it could have more imports than the tiny village she came from.
Yet upon her first step within the area, she was approached by this well-dressed gentlemen with that of a big smile. She was definitely wary of the man by how he was dressed and too enthusiastic about whom she is. Though, seeing as nobody else in the vicinity was watching them, perhaps this was a normal occurrence.
"Knowledge and experience," She said chipperly, trying to dull down her excitement to be more lady-like, "Experiencing the world outside of my own little area... Tasting cuisines from around, meeting folk, learning all I can.. And if perhaps that means I have to acquire a better position in society, then so be it! I shall work for my indulgences."
