Elric was born into a small Heartlander family, his father a blacksmith and his mother a waitress at the local tavern, being the middle child of an older brother and younger sister. As a child, Elric spent most of his time at the tavern where his mother worked, always eager to hear a story from one traveler to the next. He would often dreaming of magics, having heard of passing tales from wanderers of great wizards and warlocks, especially interested in whatever stories people told of the wandering wizard. oftentimes reading fables and writing stories about a fictional wizard he’d created called Ala Sol. Elric would often stay up extremely late jotting down stories or playing pretend in a makeshift blanket fort, with his father telling him bedtime stories of Iblees and how he cursed young children who stayed up after midnight. While his older brother took after blacksmithing and his younger sister of being a waitress, Elric found himself often drawn towards the kitchen of the tavern, learning how to cook and eventually taking up cooking as a way to make money for his family. While not the strongest in his family, Elric picked up swordfighting from passing travelers, only learning enough for basic self defense, before he would return to writing stories or cooking in the kitchen.
At the age of 19, Elric decided that he wanted to persue his childhood dream of being a wizard, and be like the many traders, adventures and wanderers that had passed the tavern that he too should go out and see the world for what it was, rather than stay in the kitchen for the rest of his life. With what seemed like everlasting goodbyes, Elric began his journey to Sutica, in hopes of seeing the world for what it was.
