Xi was a willful yet sweet girl who often found herself in the company of strangers, being incredibly out-going towards people she did not know, a trait which her father constantly ridiculed for her during their short-lived reunion. Although she had spent the early years of childhood in Yong Ping with her Li-ren mother, this would abruptly change as her mother mysteriously disappeared upon the day her father returned; having abandoned them ever since Xi was born. Subsequently, her father took her in and settled down, affording a suitable residence due to his decent means from his high-rank occupation. During her time there, Xi fell in love with a merchant, and they began planning marriage agreements, much to the distress of her father, who barely knew the boy, let alone trust him. It was then her father had had enough, abandoning her once again due to the sudden burdens of having a child to look after. Although her father had provided means for her right before he left her, she was alone and merely 14; thankfully, one day, she encountered a traveling freakshow who took her under their wing. As the freakshow toured about, Xi matured into a beautiful woman and developed many talents, such as singing and dancing. Xi was also highly observant and was thus able to pick up on a person's subtleties that could aid her in giving them an accurate reading, as she was employed as a faux fortune-teller by the freakshow, going under the assumed name of Esmeralda. Currently, she is living with her fiance in her birthplace, Yong Ping, having taken a temporary hiatus from her work as a fortune-teller.
Xi would abruptly turn her head, smiling confusedly to the gentleman as she patiently listened to him, tilting her head to observe him. "Not quite." She would giggle. "I am merely here on business." She would continue on walking, gathering up her skirts as she observed the port, shops, and stalls. She would inhale the many scents, delightedly grinning as she approached a sailor.
