Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Elias does not meet the hag's gaze, his eyes lazily drift around the tent. He lowers himself onto the cushion and exhales deeply, his breath visible as if the air was cold. "My story..." He speaks quietly, her request brings up painful memories. "Alright." He says, looking at her with a slight, sad smile. "I'll start from the beginning."
Backstory:
Elias Wardell was born to an Adunian mother and a Highlander father in a small village far north, on the icy coast beyond Nordland. He lived a quiet life until sickness swept through his village when he was around 16 years old, taking his younger sister, both his parents and most of his village. At twenty-four, Elias still carries that grief, grief of surviving. He wanders as a pilgrim in search of meaning. Drawn to the tale of Wyrvun, the Aengul of Sorrow and Redemption, he finds comfort in the idea that loss can be transformed into purpose. Now he travels from place to place, offering mourning rites and quiet guidance, even as he wrestles with his own fear of mortality.
