Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Fern peers around the room, seemingly unnerved by the surroundings, as she stays standing, trying to think of what words to say. " I'll stay standing for now, though, thank you for the offer, Ma'am. You see, I'm not from around these parts, though a friend has recently reached out, saying I should visit since they believe they have found a place I may enjoy staying for a while." As she spoke, she seemed to grow more comfortable with the surroundings, slowly easing up, a gentle smile forming on her face. " I will not lie, I'm excited to see what this new place is like. You see, I always grew up on the outskirts of cities with my family, and they want me to join them in farming, but it's never quite been my thing. I prefer sticking to books, yknow? I find it fascinating to see what authors could create, and also books on alchemy seemed especially intriguing, but nevertheless, my family does not like how interested I am in this and does not support my interest at all, so I've decided that leaving seems to be the best option, so I can get away from their constant nagging." While Fern talked, she slowly sat down, and she opened up about why she had decided to move , the envorment around her no longer on edge as she had gotten quite comfortable.
