    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is a way of using OOC (Out-of-Character) knowledge, in-character. In other words, getting information by OOC means and using it as an advantage in roleplay.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is a way of allowing an individual's character to have supreme power over any situation within roleplay, allowing said character to complete any task/action without consequence, and/or forcing actions upon another character without allowing them to respond in kind.

Stepping off the boat and onto the port, Len allowed his blue gaze to dart from shop to stall, and all around, taking in the salty mixture of water and sea salt. As he made his way down and had been approached by the well-dressed gentleman, Len meet the man's gaze and smile with a polite grin of his own, genuinely curious of the man's intentions.

"You have my thanks!" He added in jovial reply. "Ah... not particularly any of those things, but! I am looking to gain a bit of information into a particular culture of elves. Specifically, Wood Elves. I know, I know, it sounds silly coming from an elf like myself, but I assure you, it's a bit more personal than you'd think." With a reassuring grin, Len remained there, awaiting for an answer and hoping that he'd at least be given a lick of information on his way off.
