Freyja's story begins in the outskirts of Ves as the daughter of a recently widowed haberdashery seamstress, Pauline Renata. While not uncaring, her mother's loss made her grow cold and demanding of Freyja early in their life which pressed her to become rebellious and seek activities away from their overbearing household. 

She'd find their interests met by a local girl, Carina, who quickly became close friends with Freyja. Delinquency took hold of the duo, committing hijinxs across town for amusement and frivolous gains. Their friendship waned as Freyja was forced to tend to their responsibilities as a juvenile. 

Years later, nearing Freyja's 18th birthday, and with the advent of the Rubern War having started months prior, Carina would reunite with Freyja but with a proposition. While Freyja was tending to their homestead, Carina had gotten themselves involved in organized crime and urged Freyja to join them in thievery. Seeking the rush of energy they felt in their youth, she'd oblige, aiding Carina in a number of heists and plots.

Freyja was not cut out for the life of a burglar and looked outward with worry as the war prompted more and more city guards to start patrolling the streets. She would resign from their criminal life with the announcement of formation of The Second Regiment. Though unlikely to see battle, the fear of war nagged at her mind every now and then.

Years would pass with Freyja living the life of mediocrity as an assistant to a local smithy to support their mother. Having been in poor health and unable to work, Freyja's mother would pass on. Their death would prompt immediate change in Freyja's life. With the push of their mother's untimely demise and the drive to experience the thrill of their youth once again, she would move Westward into Oren to seek adventure and gain.
