Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Jakorin stops just inside the tent, the smell of damp wood and moss sticking to him. He shifts on his feet before sitting down on the cushion, shoulders a little tense. The candlelight flickers as he looks at the old hag, unsure but trying not to show it.
“Wasn’t expecting anyone to be waiting for me,” he says. “Name’s Jakorin. I used to work as a bartender. That dried up, so I started moving from place to place.”
He glances toward the tent opening, then back at her.
“I came here looking for work… maybe something better than the road. If you say you were expecting me, then I guess this town isn’t just some random stop.”
