    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is using knowledge obtained out of character in character without having a legitimate in character reason to know said information. An example would be hearing about a character having a cool item and then trying to steal that item without learning in character.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Using unfair actions and emotes that control the actions of another player and generally degrades the quality of roleplay and the enjoyment of other parties in order to advance one's own character without regards to the quality of roleplay. An example, the most common one in my experience, is deciding that an attack connects without giving the other player a reaction to decide whether the attack connects or not.
