Jakob Hodel was born on the outskirts of Helena to John and Edith Hodel. His family ran a successful farm being well known to many in the local area. 

Unfortunately at age 6 Jakob lost his father in a hunting accident and being unable to manage the farm Edith eventually sold it. Edith and Jakob would find housing with the other farmsteads around that the Hodels had become well acquainted with, becoming farm hands to pay for the rent. It was during this time learned much of what he knows from the people around him, learning farming skills and a basic understanding of how to write. 

At age 14 after a quick battle with disease, Edith would pass away, Jacob soon found himself without any family and fled into inner Helena hoping someone would take him in to work. This would be a turning point in Jakobs life as at age 15 he found long lasting refuge in The Basilica of the Final Revelation doing small jobs for the church and leading to Jakob becoming heavily religious. 

When Jakob turned 24 he left the church and joined the “War of the Two Emperors” as a soldier believing that it was his duty to his Emperor, it was during the Siege of Helena that Jakob would become heavily injured and retire from the military. 

At the age of 28 Jakob had collected enough money to buy his family farm house again and would marry a woman named Gertude. They had one child named Joseph.  When Jakob was 53 Gertrude suddenly died of a heart attack and soon after this his son Joseph would leave the farm to make a name for himself and headed to the city of Alban.

Jakob continued to farm what he could but his age was beginning to catch up to him, at age 66 one night he accidentally knocked over a lantern causing the house and farm to set ablaze. Though escaping unharmed he had now lost his families home and sold off the land, Jakob took up drinking during this finding much comfort in the bottle that he lacked in most other places other then the Church.

Now at age 67, Jakob Hodel looks for a new start in the next chapter of his late life hoping he can make something of the time he has left.
