Atemu is a human highlander who grew up in the outskirts of a village north of The Kingdom Of Norland. His childhood was rough his parents never got along and both were drunkards, his father was farfolk and his mother was a native highlander. His father was a refugee hiding from his nation after being exiled for war crimes, and his mother was a local librarian who would drink late nights at home while, his dad would get wasted at local pubs. Atemu would spend his time forced into training by his father who saw magic as a weakness and wanted Atemu to be his successor as a warrior, at night Atemu would sneak out and talk to an elder at the local inn who would tell Atemu about tales about mages who knew a form of magic called chi this always excited Atemu since his parents rarely allowed him to go out and socialize but as the years went on the elder taught Atemu life skills like the basics of bartering and exploration. Unfortunately the old man passed away due to natural causes and Atemu started losing hope, one night both of Atemu's parents where home and were drunk and got into a huge fight that escalated beyond loud expressions and intrusive back talk resulting in Atemus mom dying by the hands of his father this was a massive shock to Atemu even though he didn't think his parents were good people it was hard to see his own father slaughter his mother. Then on for the past year and a half Atemu lived at the local orphanage trying to forget that day holding no regrets or hate towards his family, but with the help of the elders wisdom he pushed through and now that he's old enough, he's left the orphanage to explore the world he's only heard in stories and folktales.
