    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is using information gathered OOC/outside of the RP in order to give your character unfair advantages by letting them know things they wouldn't otherwise.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is RPing while ignoring any resistance that might follow or prohibit an action. For example, saying "Gina kills Lucas" gives Lucas no chance to RP or respond, while "Gina lunges at Lucas, intending to kill him" gives both a fair chance to RP.

Ahera was seperated from her immediate family at a young age and was taken care of my her sickly aunt, only known as Auntie Vani to her, for many years. Growing up in Ker’nor, she still had a very happy, wondrous childhood, in which the girl could explore all different forms of art. Ahera was enraptured by the beautiful sculptures and intricate masonry of the town; however, her aunt was an avid music enthusiast and made her desires for her niece to be a musician of some sort very clear. Thus, Ahera, not wanting to go against her caretaker, practiced frequently with various instruments. From a young age, she has enjoyed playing and singing songs, even writing poetry, though she is awful at it. Vani also made sure to give the elf proper physical training as to not create a walking tragedy and helped her become decent enough with a sword to protect herself against most reasonable threats. Still, Ahera is very insecure about her skills, so she will usually try to use her manners and music to change a sitation for the better before pulling out a weapon. During her childhood, she followed very strict rules prohibiting her from interacting with many strangers as well as going outdoors without supervision, dooming her to be a little too naive. The duo moved to the Gladewynn when the time came, and lived peacefully and slightly isolated for a while. The guidelines she needed to follow were uplifted when Ahera was of age, but she still stayed with her aunt who had become too sickly and frail to care for herself. As the to-be musician neared the age of 83, Ahera’s aunt laid upon her death bed. In her final moments she informed her that her parents were still alive and requested that Ahera bring them a message: a song written on a thin sheet of paper. Unfortunately, her aunt passed before she was able to provide more details, so now Ahera wanders from place hoping to find more information about where her family could be as well as performing and finding inspiration for her masterpiece.

Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
