Greetings applicant! Welcome to The Lord of the Craft!

    Application Rules

    • You must be at least thirteen (13) years old to join LotC. There are no exceptions to this rule.
    • You must have completely read the server rules to be accepted.
    • Your application must entirely be your own original work. Plagiarism isn’t tolerated. If you plagiarize any section of your application, you will be denied.
    • You cannot create a noble or royal character, or create a character that is friends with a noble or royal, without the permission of the player whose character’s child, or friend, you will be playing.
    • You cannot create a character that:
      • Possesses or knows the details of magic.
      • Is physically flawless or is omniscient, as these are both classified as powergaming.
    • Your Character Age must be at least 18.
      • Humans, elves, and dwarves all reach physical and mental maturity at 18.
      • Culturally, humans reach maturity at the standard 18 years, while dwarves and elves reach this at 50 with the exception of snow elves at 30.
      • Halflings reach physical and mental maturity at 33.
      • Orcs reach physical mature anywhere between 12-18, and they mentally mature at 18.
    • You can create an evil character; however, you should keep in mind that villainous characters must adhere to our villainy rules, and poor-quality villainy roleplay could lead to Moderation intervention.

    Application Guidelines

    • Remember to read all notes under each text box. Some of these include requirements for your application, helpful tips, and so on.
    • Your Character Skin should match the gender, race, and physical description (as best as possible) of your character.
    • Generally, try to keep your application free of grammar mistakes and spelling errors. We aren’t looking for perfection, but a well-written application makes the reviewing process much smoother

    Final Note

    • Check often to see if a Community Team member has reviewed your application. You will receive either an Accepted, Pending, or Denied response with a comment explaining what to do next.

    • While waiting to be reviewed, feel free to log onto LotC as a [Soul]. Souls are the unwhitelisted rank that applicants have, allowing them to fly and explore, as well as chat with members of our community in the [WS] chat channel. Our players and staff are always happy to help with questions, so don't be afraid to ask! Our Community Team members have a [C] prefix in-game if you ever are looking to PM someone with a question.
    • Be sure to save your application in a separate program like Google Docs or Microsoft Word while you're working on it, just in case!

Define metagaming in your own words: Metagaming is more or less the act of taking the knowledge you learn OOC (out of character) and applying it to your IC (in character) situations. For example, if you learned OOC that person A is angry at person B and then use your IC to make person B aware of it, then that would be metagaming, which is UNACCEPTABLE.
Define powergaming in your own words: It is essentially giving yourself the ability to control the world around you and those around you. In a sense, making yourself OP (OverPowered) or broken in other words. For example, a powergamer would outright kill someone, rather than ATTEMPT to kill someone.

Born from an encounter between Katalia Mundi and Egar Jasper, Jasper Mundi is man now in his late 20s, with a strong passion and respect for culture, historical and religious texts, as well as a fondness of all wildlife. The origins of his bloodline and his family heritage comes from a man named Rygurd Mundi, a blacksmith just south of Thales, at least, so that is what he was told. But through the years, war has set the land on fire, has spilled the blood of many, and has left those without a name... forgotten.

Taking many steps into the future, Katalia Mundi, Jasper's beloved mother, was born into a harsh family life, brought up by those with an addictive tendancy to the drink and gluttonous appetite. For though she feared her own, she found herself embracing the world around her, giving her a reason to live and see the path ahead. With even more steps in the future, she was greeted by a young soldier in a local pub/bar(?) named Egar Jasper, whom from the beginning, seemed to be nothing but trouble, as he had plans of his own and no desire to change them to accompany others.

And now, with the final steps into the days ahead, Katalia and Egar grew fond of one another, bringing for into the world Jasper Mundi. For with the birth of his essence, came the abandonment by his bastard of a father.  Within days, Egar had left the family behind, continuing down his own road of violence and heavy drinking. But, as dire and as regrettable as the situation may seem to Katalia, she loved her dear child, and was determined to see him survive, to see him happy, to see him have the life that she never would.

His early years were greatly influenced by the lore of books, the stories of kings and queens, of wars and alliances. His fascination evergrowing with the thoughts of what is now, and what could have been. Going into his teen years, he was brought up to explore the world around him, to seek out life and help it along the path, regardless of whether or not the path be burdened by sadness and fear. Jasper Mundi was gifted, or as gifted as one child could be, with minimal options in a poor stricken family.

Into the beginning of his adulthood, he sought the guidance and understanding of a man named Lucius Taeylon, a man believed to be in possession of books of unforseen. But because of the greater difference in age, and the inability to maintain a constant attention to time, Jasper was unable to learn more than the mere grasps of what the past would have been, had the road ahead been shaped differently, not with the hands of those who've seen death, but those who have given life.

But now, with the time that remains, and the years that have passed since his birth, he finds himself alone in this world. Losing the only family he ever knew... his mother. The last person to see his smile, to bring him great joy, and now... to give him nothing but grief. He sets forth down the road ahead, where it will lead him... only time will tell.

How would you define roleplay, and have you ever roleplayed before?: I consider roleplay or the act of roleplaying, or even the art of roleplaying to be viewed as the task of storytelling, creating a ground to stand on and then walking along it. As for myself, yes, I've roleplayed before many times, but its been a few years.
Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?: At the moment, no. But I understand the general jist of them overall. While not all of them make 100% sense, they make enough sense to know what not to do.
Character Name: Jasper Mundi
Character Race: Human
Character Gender: Male
Character Age: 28
Physical Description: Black hair, brown eyes, black/dark gray coat, tan pants, brown shoes, average build, 5ft 11in, around 170lbs
Personality Traits/Quirks: High curiosity for the unknown, non-religious (but willing to learn about), is a pacifist, highly philosophical and deep-thinking. Is also easily spooked and paranoid of the unknown as well.
What is your character’s biggest fear? What caused them to develop this fear?: Despite being indefinitely curious about the world around him, Jasper is unable to handle being in the ocean, in caves, or outside at night and will often hide due to severe anxiety and paranoia.
What does your character like most about themselves? Why?: His ability to figure out complex riddles, puzzles, locks, and other things of a similar nature (aka "booksmart"). He likes this because it has helped him out of a problem time and time again.
What does your character dislike most about themselves? Why?: His inability to handle stressful situations, and will often flee or cower when it becomes too much. He hates this because it has severely hindered his ability to get to see the outside world.
Roleplay Scenario:

Jasper looks around curiously, his eyes going from one shop to the next, his interest piqued by the many different trinkets and items worth buying. "I see... this must be a place where much trading happens... but what of the mind is being shared here... I wonder..." He then notices the gentleman approaching him, immediately he takes a step back, weary of this unknown individual. "Greetings..." He then listened closely as the man questioned his motives. "Well, I am here to find myself, and more importantly, find a library and find someone whom I can learn much from with the years I have left." He then stepped forwards again, noticing the activity in the bazaar, feeling more at ease knowing that there were others around to survey the area. "If it isn't much trouble, could you direct me to a place where I can find a bed? It has been a long journey, and I do feel that some rest would do me good before I explored this place."

Your application has been put on pending as there are changes needing to be made before you may be accepted, as follows:

Your Powergaming Definition is on the right track, though it’s not quite there. Take another look at our Wiki’s definitions for help, and I recommend including an example so I can tell you fully understand!

Your Character Biography states that you moved from Axios! This would make your character far older than twenty-eight. I suggest you take another look at the wiki and pick Arcas instead, this would make more sense.

If you do not make these changes within 24 hours, your application will be denied. When you are finished, please message me on Discord cobbler#0001 to let me know, or if you don’t have a Discord, send me a forum message, and please do ask if you have any questions.

If you still need help, make sure to check the wiki, and I highly recommend joining the
LotC  Discord as well.
