Grindfarn is a Dark Dwarf, raised by his father, Tharkun, in a cave near the sea, an old, bitter and maimed dwarf, Tharkun would tell Grindfarn of the mighty dwarven people, the Brathmordakin and the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, he would also tell Grindfarn stories of the dark dwarves and the Doomforged, most importantly however to Tharkun he would instil his beliefs about the other races and how they were inferior to the mighty dwarven people.
As Grindfarn grew, stories of how his father fought against the orcs in Athera and how he lost his leg and arm in battle against them nurtured the hate and disdain for the other races that his father had placed in him, Grindfarn would also ask his father questions not just about their people but also of where his mother was and why weren’t they with their people, while Tharkun would answer any question Grindfarn had about their people he refused to speak about his mother or how they came to be hear, over time Grindfarn began to slowly hate his father as Grindfarn endlessly took care of him everyday, and Tharkun would tell him nothing of Grindfarn’s past.
After years of caring for his crippled father Grindfarn had had enough, telling his father that for too long has he cared for a useless old man whilst the enemies of their people grew stronger, and so Grindfarn left his father to die as Tharkun as could not take care of himself, determined to find and join his people.
Scowling, Grindfarn says “Move aside human, my business here is my own and I do not need the assistance from the likes of you, speak to me again and you will regret it, know get out of my way”, after this Grindfarn brushes the man aside and continues walking, muttering under his “Damn humans”.
