Born in Senntisten, the capital of Renatus-Marna, it was not Manfred's lot in life to be the son of nobility or the child of some renowned artist. No, his tale begins much more simply.
Manfred was born an orphan, thrust into the machinations of the world with ne'er a penny to his name, his father absent and his mother a poor and sickly woman unable to take care
of her new born babe. In fact, if it were not for the kindness of strangers, it is unlikely that Manfred would've survived long at all, cast out into the street as he was. Cared for by other
street urchins, the children of war and disease and violence, Manfred grew quick and strong. He learnt how to steal, how to lie and, most importantly, how to throw a punch. However,
to say he was content would not be true. Manfred yearned to see more of Atlas, although at a young age, the means to do so evaded him.
Manfred's desire to see the world was stoked by tales of chivalry and knights slaying fearsome creatures and saving those in harm. It was settled, Manfred wanted to be a knight. Of
course his social standing made this almost impossible, a baseborn child of no-name. Regardless, this passion for adventure grew and grew over the years until he reached adulthood.
With no employment making itself obvious, he gathered his meagre possessions and left the city he was born, travelling North to Cloud Temple in the hopes of finding his calling travelling
on the roads of Atlas to wherever his fancy takes him.
