Aren is a highlander from the Kingdom of Haense. As a baby, he was traded by his parents to pirates so that they could pay off their debt that was compiled up for many years. The youngest of four, they decided that Aren would be a worthy- and least heartbreaking sacrifice that had to be made. Growing up with the pirates, he was treated generally well, from being a mere cabin boy to much more, sailing the high seas as he grew up. He learned experiences from piracy, learning how to swindle and steal, how to fight and defend himself, and even a bit of diplomacy and manners from debt collection. Nothing too tragic happened to him afterwards, but he learned the social self-defense mechanism of being jovial to all, and being cold to a certain point when others try to get close. He's afraid of losing the people who he loves as it happened on the seas many times. On his twenty-fourth birthday, he returned to the King of Haense, and walked to the house that was owned by his parents, and siblings. He harbored no ill-will towards them, and they were overjoyed to see their youngest, but had to turn him away as they could not forgive themselves. Now, he looks for things to do in order to become great.
Aren enters the town from the gate as he got off the passenger ship and adjusts his hands to rest on his belt. He walks around the town, turning his head about to see the scenes of the town. He's looking for something- it's not terribly hard to find, but he had a bit of trouble locating a vendor that sells it. As he turns the corner in the main square, he sees a man approach him as he replies to his grandiose introduction: "I'm jus' lookin' fer a bottle o' mead, m'good man!" Aren would say jovially as he offered a toothy grin. Mead was his favorite, and frankly, he just needed a drink.
