    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Making your character have godly powers which makes them unbeatable in combat, or forces an action to happen to someone else's character. EX" player1 and player2 are in the woods fighting player1 throws a dagger lodging it in player2's chest

  • Inquisitive 
    • Elora happens to be a very curious girl, who enjoys the wonders of the world.  Her main goal for her life span is to learn everything there is to know about each and every kingdom, to become a walking achieve of knowledge.  
  • Ambitious 
    • Elora is a girl who sets goals and enjoys accomplishing them.  She doesn’t like to give up too easily always keeping a level head figuring out the best way to tackle an issue or learning when to walk away when the time comes. Because of her ambitious attitude, Elora can almost be found learning and developing new skills to add to her collection of goals to complete and skills to master. 
  • Shy
    • Though Elora seems to be the type to go out and explore the world to gain knowledge and skills she is still shy around people.  Being kept around elven of woodland status only she’s not quite sure how to interact with other elves or other species.  So when running into her, she most likely will stay quiet, nod her head and avoid speaking in fear of enraging someone. 
  • Perfectionist
    • This can be Elora’s downfall and high skill, Elora is a girl who likes everything to be perfect in her eyes.  If something doesn’t meet her standards she will most likely break down curling herself into a ball until she can figure out a way to fix whatever she’s doing.  This is a downfall because she’ll break down no matter her location leaving her vulnerable.
  • A mumbler
    • Another flaw to Elora is she’s a mumbler, she can often be found mumbling to herself about something.  It’s not because of a mental issue, she just has so many thoughts all at once that she often says those thoughts out loud, though she isn't speaking in full volume when she’s mumbling it’s more like a whisper that only someone 5 feet away from her could hear.  This is a downfall because she could say a secret plan out loud without knowing it or because she’ll be so intuned with her mumbling that she doesn’t know she’s in danger until the last minute. 

 

Background: Elora Moonflower a young elven girl born to a woodland elven mother and a dark elven father in the darling Federation of Sutica. Though she was born to loving parents, she never met them.  Elora’s parents mysteriously disappeared when Elora was three years old.  Because of the lack of parents, Elora had to learn to fend for herself at a young age.  Though not many danger ever occurred city of Linandria Elora still had to wonder about the city having random elder elves take care of her for no longer than a month then sending her off again.  Elora had a rotation of elder elve homes that she would reside for a month or two before going off back into the city alone.  She did get many offers to stay and reside with many of the elves she resided with however, she enjoyed the wildlife of being free to do whatever she desired.  As she got older the elves that took care of her taught her as much knowledge that they could provide, which made Elora desire nothing more than to become a walking archive of knowledge to share with the world. Along with knowledge she learned, she also learned about the common religion of Aspectism, learning about said religion Elora puts what she knows into action at all point of her life knowing she nor anyone else is better than the wild. Learning that she is to live in harmony with the wild and to take only what she needs and nothing more. As time went on and Elora became more in tune with nature and the diverse cultures around but also wanted to explore and develop her knowledge of the surrounding kingdoms.  For this, she set off to The Empire of Renatusto in hopes of a different life.  If things don’t work out in her new home she still plans to travel and move about possibly seeking new residency. 

 

Additional information:  When it comes to her half-breed status, Elora looks more like a woodland elve than anything taking many of her features from her mother.  However, she took blue eyes from her father which is often rare for her woodland elves to have and black hair from her mother which is rare for dark elves to have.  Growing up Elora was taught little to no information about her father’s elve history due to her not looking like a dark elf nor having any trace of parents to look upon.  Elora was mostly taught woodland elve customs and traditions.  If one was to spot Elora one would think she is only of woodland elve heritage.

Physical Description: When looking at Elora the first thing they would notice would be her nature like clothing, Pointed ears, and her bright blue eyes.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

You’re almost there! Unfortunately for the time being, your application has been placed on Pending for the following reasons:

  • Your definition of powergaming isn’t sufficient, and your definition of metagaming needs rewording. Refer to this article for more knowledge on the subject.
  • Include at least two accurate, specific lore references in your biography. These can be names of cities, religions or notable events in the LoTC timeline, for example. Note that the current realm is Arcas.
  • Your persona cannot be part of a family without the players’ approval. Please provide proof of this, have a head of the seed vouch for you, or remove your character’s affiliation with the family.

While you do have lore references in your application I would deem sufficient, after the changes you need to make there aren’t enough.
