Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Aelira paused, her gaze flicking over the dim tent before she dropped her napsack to the ground with a dull thud. She didn't sit right away, though. She had encountered one too many strangers who were overxurious about her story.
"You've been expecting me?" She replied, her voice low and cautious, wondering why this stranger would want to know anything about her. "That's never a good thing."
Still, against her better judgement, Aelira sat onto the cold, solid ground with a grunt.
"I don't come from anywhere important. Just places... here and there. Have been traveling since I was 14, being tossed between people who didn't know what to do with a headstrong girl like me. Strangers call me 'girl', friends call me Aeli, and enemies? Well, you don't want to know." Her eyes glimmered with a mischevious gleam and her jaw tighetnened. "Just trying to make a name for myself in any way I can. And live."
