You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

The girl looked around for a moment, before back at the 'old hag' seemingly confused. Quietly she would flatten out her dress, in anticipation for what was to come from this conversation. "I- well, you see... My umm..." she paused for a bit before continuing on. "My story?..." pondering on this for a moment before letting her eyes wonder to the seat. Supposedly she didn't have much of a story to tell yet. Nibbling on the bottom of her lip before following through with sitting down. "I suppose, my story is quite boring, really... My parents owned a small herbal tea store, it didn't get much business as it wasn't located in the most well-off area of town. Oh--" she recalled never speaking her name to the old hag, dipping her head in a bit of shame. "Where are my manners... I'm Eowyn Arietty." Another pause as the small, framed girl would think further on, "I have a brother... He's younger than me. By about- well, I suppose he's not my real brother. My father had an affair, and she abandoned the child, my mom took my father back and accepted the child even if the story behind him hurts her severely." Eowyn looked over the hag, a bit of sweat running down her forehead as she feared she wasn't the most interesting at story telling. "Right umm... as I was saying, we hardly got customers in the tea shop, due to that we had to sell it in order to not lose our house. It's not the biggest. But it's still filled with a lot of love, I don't know much about my dad as he is too busy messing around or working in order to keep us afloat. My mother isn't able to work as she is ill and well me- I ran away. Suppose that's the most interesting... I ran away to pursue anything. Really. I didn't want to confine myself to the poor life or constantly scavenging for food... I want to make a name for myself and repay my mom for everything she did for me. Everything she gave to me. Honest to God, I just want to give her the best last years of her life as I can. Which is why I won't return till I have enough currency in order to provide for her and my brother." Was she rambling again? Who knows, the old hag seemed inclined to say the least.
