You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Liysand prances into the tent, eyes shining with barely contained excitement and curiosity. She does a full spin to fully take in the environment before plopping down on the cushion, patting it to feel the texture, and sitting tailor-style. She turns her attention to the hag. "Oh, me? Well, I'm just an adventurer who found this town by chance. But if you want to know my *story-*" She pauses dramatically, leaning forward. "-I'd be willing to share. I don't really know my family, as I assume they died since my first memories are of being alone wandering the port surrounding Vortice with no name or parents. All I have of my family-" She pulls up her sleeve, showing intricate white patterns tattooed onto her skin, "Are these. I've been in Vortice ever since, but I think it's high time I tried to find them, so I'm setting off on an *adventure!*" Liysand says the word reverently, as if she were a grand hero on an epic quest. "Oh- and by the way, though I'm sure you already know- I'm Liysand! It's a name I picked out for myself since I don't ever remember having one."
