Celian was born into a middle class home in the city of Helena, named after the brilliant Helen Horen, who built the city and it’s great holy prides. Celian was the youngest out of his two siblings, Ellios and Aventus. All three boys had a strict roof over their heads. While growing up, Celian was shamed by his parents for his lack of religious belief, being the strict heartlanders they were, his parents often beat him for speaking on his opinions, which often times rebelled on their faith. This caused a lot of tension and childhood trauma for Celian. He was afraid to socialize with the children in the city and became distant and introverted. Until he met Ivy Forentus, a young raven-haired girl, who saw great potential in him. You’d often find him spending his breakfast, lunch and supper with her, playing as the old busy city buzzed.
During this time, Celian and his two brothers were trained in combat. Celian grew a great attachment to archery and had a promising talent. He enjoyed long distance battles where he could show off his abilities, this is where he gained his most of his confidence, even without the nurture of his parents, he still learned to get by. His eyes were steady and hands were swift. Unfortunately, during one of his training sessions, he was forced to battle up close with his eldest brother. Which, being Celian, was very nervous about. Celian was at his biggest disadvantage. He was quickly tattered from his feet, his brother was merciless, beating him until he was quickly bleeding out from open wounds. It took months of recovery, during this period, Celian had lost all memory of his once cherished best friend, Ivy. Who’d disappeared without a trace, the only thing Celian held onto was her warm scent and he was determined to find her once again.
After his long recovery, he continued to push away the heavily endorsed religion his family cherished, which angered his father greatly, Celian also knew that his elder brother, Aventus, had battered and bruised him out of spite, not the goal to get better which carried heavy tension between them. Shortly after Celian turned 16 years of age, his father banished him from the household; causing Celian to care for himself by befriending merchants and begging adventurers until he could finally hold his own by age 18. Celian bought his own home and stayed in the city working as an apprentice for an old trusty blacksmith. But Celian was not satisfied, he wished to see his beloved friend once more, and so he worked day by day, waiting for the moment he could sought adventure and find his friend once more. On his 21st birthday, he packed his bags and left his old memories and city. Longing to find his dear cherished friend. His lust for adventure tugging him, off he went, creating a new life for himself.
Celian would study the richly dressed man, out of concern for his safety. Why would one who looked so wealthy cared what he was up to? He thought. Celian would reply dryly,
‘’It depends on who is asking.’’
He would take another step towards the man with great caution,
‘’Who are you?’’
