At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"I've traveled far and faced dangers most would never survive," he said, in a firm voice and unyielding. His eyes lock onto the hag’s, a silent challenge in gaze. "I didn’t expect anyone to be waiting for me here, but that doesn’t surprise me. Who are you, and how do you know my name?" He lean forward, and his posture steady, showing no sign of hesitation as he scrutinize her in the flickering candlelight.
