  1. Sholay

    KnightSholay

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.” ((How do you respond?)) Sholay steps confidently toward the cushion, his hand resting calmly on the hilt of his sword as he sits down. "I've traveled far and faced dangers most would never survive," he said, in a firm voice and unyielding. His eyes lock onto the hag’s, a silent challenge in gaze. "I didn’t expect anyone to be waiting for me here, but that doesn’t surprise me. Who are you, and how do you know my name?" He lean forward, and his posture steady, showing no sign of hesitation as he scrutinize her in the flickering candlelight. Memories of his past surge through sholay's mind, but he remained focused. "I grew up in a small village on the edge of a dense forest, where I was taught to face the world head-on. My father, a master weapon smith, and my mother, a healer with unmatched skills, prepared me for anything. They were the best at what they did, and they made sure I was, too. From a young age, I was trained in the art of combat, learning to wield every weapon my father forged. My mother, on the other hand, taught me the secrets of the earth, how to heal, how to sense danger, and how to survive when the odds were stacked against me. When I wasn’t training, I spent my days exploring the forest, learning its paths, and mastering its challenges. The wilderness became my second home, and I learned to read the signs of nature as easily as words on a page. The village elders often spoke of ancient threats and whispered legends, but I thought nothing of them. Life was hard, but it was ours, and I was content. But then, everything changed. One night, under the cover of darkness, a band of ruthless raiders descended upon our village. They struck without warning, leaving destruction and death in their wake. I fought alongside my father, but even his skill couldn’t hold them back forever. In the chaos, my mother gave me a final gift, a powerful amulet, a relic passed down through generations. She told me it would protect me, and it did, though it couldn’t save them. Our village was reduced to ashes, and I was left with nothing but the clothes on my back and the amulet hanging around my neck. In the aftermath, I swore an oath. I would find those responsible for the destruction of my home, and I would make them pay. But my journey became more than just a quest for vengeance. As I traveled from one town to another, honing my skills and facing greater challenges, I uncovered hints of something far darker and more ancient at play, whispers of an old enemy thought to be long dead, and a shadowy force pulling the strings behind the scenes. Now, I walk the path of a warrior, driven by the need for justice and the truth. The amulet my mother gave me has saved my life more times than I can count, guiding me through dangers that would have killed lesser men. But it’s more than just a talisman, it’s a reminder of my purpose and the promise I made to my parents. Every battle I fight, every enemy I face, brings me closer to uncovering the truth. And when I do, I will finish what I started. I will bring down those who destroyed my village, and I will restore the honor of my family name." *This swampy town is just another step on my journey, and the hag’s words, while intriguing, only strengthen my resolve. I am not easily swayed, and I trust no one until they’ve proven themselves worthy* he thought to himself as he ended the story.
