Knighttonight

Born in the land of Almaris to Daloris and Devin Vanor'puffin on an overcast night. Daloris cried and spited Daris's name in quiet the first few months but grew to love him as he out grew his daily bouts of non-stop four-hour crying fits. Raised in the quiet hills behind Mount Raiz, Vanor'puffin family and their close friends farmed and baked in peace. Daris son of one, often found joy joining two of his many cousins, Mark and Hindy, in playing hop,skip,stone in the shallow river bed in-between their lectures. The summer months were spent sewing seed on the fields with his father, kneading dough with his mother, and building/digging wells with his uncle. The winters though rough, brought the family together. Aunt Garry's canned foods keeping the family well-fed when Devin ultimately forgot (again) to save some chop for then.

Devin, a stubborn man by all accounts knew much about the world and had the mind to share it. Daris never knew a silent moment on his long trips from their village over the mount to sell crop at the market. As years turned by Daris learned to tell which of the stories were meant to entertain, to teach, and which were just his father's way of boasting.

His parents having Daris at an older age meant he had to take charge maybe younger than most. Keeping an eye out for threats from others along the road or the killer secrets of addiction from his family within.  This stressed Daris out, needing a retreat, he found a renewed joy in getting away from it all by the riverside. Catching fish to bring home for his family to eat after Daloris stopped baking was a plus. Though all good things must come to an end, his favourite retreat became a competition when Mark joined him in the hobby. Always being one to "one up" Daris, Mark would egg him on to catch bigger and bigger fish. Never one to be left out, Hindy soon joined in on the action and would later leave home to sail the open seas to bring home the largest fish. Mark would pass away long before getting to see her return due to an infection caused by his ever increasing antics.

Mark's death didn't sit well with Daris, not believing a simple cut was the true cause, he began doing his own research, asking his own questions. His worries and convictions were hardened further when his mother past after years' long battle involving the drug bliss-foil. Not being one to always draw the right conclusions, Daris listened allowed strangers to fill his mind, leading him to believe some unique tales. Some relating to the world, the great debate if we live on a cube or sphere. Others being more of this world, like if a certain king and a city did or did not burn itself down.

With a yearning for adventure, and his father being admitted to the care of his cousins, Daris Vanor'puffin an adult of 3 years set off on his own to catch the grand-ish fish. Complete with his uncle's short-sword, fishing rod, and trusty hat.
