Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
He hesitates, then sit on the velvet couch, reclining as he eyes a jug of ale. "Listen, I've made quite the name for myself. In the towns north of here, they know me as a burglar and a dirty thief." He lets out weary sigh "I had to do what I did. I wouldn't be be here now if not for..." he trails off, lost in thought, then raises his head, seemingly having come to a conclusion "I might as well start with how I got to this godforsaken island." he sits back again, settling into the cushion "I was born into a family of musicians. My father traveled the lands, playing his lute everywhere he went. My mother was the daughter of an Idunian nobleman. They married and settled down in the outskirts of Alduun. My mother... she died in childbirth. My father raised me alone, and gave up playing the lute to take care of me. To be honest, I think that slowly drove him to insanity. He told me stories of distant lands and beautiful seas." he pauses "But he drank himself to death. That's why I'm here. I want to see the world. And, well, I want to live a better life than my father did."
