One dark night in Atlas, Aelin Galathynius was given a second chance at life by a Jonathan Mills after being chased out of Elven lands by the nations who signed the Treaty of Thales. Jonathan, a simple human farmer who wished to repent for the murders of another Snow Elf family, gave her a refuge until she had recovered her strength to continue her journey. In order to escape from the massacre Aelin decided to travel while undergoing strict military training and hopes one day to become one of the greatest assassins known to Haelun'or. She chose to train in secret as an assassin, her first kill on that same night in the hopes of one day reclaiming her homeland.
