For years, Nimue has ventured out and lived a nomadic life under her family’s request, as it was a coming of age journey for young adults in Zestari family to learn swordsmanship and skills for survival in their tumultuous world. The Zestari family adorned jewels to represent their family, but was a smaller group of Dark Elves in comparison to other families. During these times, she’s been able to narrowly avoid wars and conflict, watching them from the sidelines- seeing a fair amount of tragedy throughout her journey. During her journey, she became caught up in-between the warring nations in Atlas, and had initially assumed her family had gone through the same trouble. During her continuous travels after the world had settled, she heard that the Dark Elves had settled in a place named Vira’ker from fellow travelers and tavern people, so she decided to see if she could find the place- but she realized that if she went back, her journey would end. She enjoyed being able to roam freely without her family always watching her, and felt her strength as a swordsman has become greater since she had left home- it was natural for Dark Elves to stick with their families, but for her, she didn’t want to abandon her nomadic life. She wandered away from her family, and left to take refuge in the Druidic Order’s home, a place that she had remembered to be overall welcoming- the perfect place to decide what to do. Resting there for weeks, unsure of what to do, and feeling bound by her own tradition- she decided it was best for her not to return home. Writing a letter to her family, despite being unsure of their whereabouts, she hoped that they would receive her message and love.
She makes her way on her path to becoming a traveling merchant, with an uncertain future ahead, Nimue hopes that she’s made the right decision in her life- especially in their tragedy ridden world. To her though, there’s nothing else she can do to invoke change if she decided to stay stagnant, and afraid.
