Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They
duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Taking her at face value Valerie planted herself down without a second thought, setting down a large twined battle axe and gear before croaking up "Worked at a butcher shop most of my life hunting anything with my pa worth a fair price."
Valerie shifted in her seat before taking a deep breath clearly she had some unsolved issues in her past that needed solving
"We had to shut it down but I never got a straight answer before he passed, and now I've been chasing that kind of normalcy for a while now but who even knows I might not have the time to figure how to get back to that kind of life if ever."
Valerie felt like she needed that and as fast as she babbled on to the hag She picked up her gear and turned tail to leave lighting a cigar on my way out "Thanks for letting me retell an old story think I need to get my priorities straight." (if I wasn't gunna live long might aswell live it to the fullest.)
As she dragged her axe out the hag gripped the shoulder of her axe "Wait!" she said hurriedly
"You might aswell stay, towns like these aren't so welcoming to strangers, especially ones from afar." Her face had a mix of sincerity and plain deception, wether she wanted her coins or worse she didn't want to find out and see
Valerie turned back "No need, I was leaving town anyways I'll find my own way I'm sure."
