Edward Blackwood is a young man from Heartland, born in a small rural village in the High Kingdom of Idunia. He grew up in a humble farming family, where his childhood was marked by hard work, a simple faith, and the tales of saints and ancient wars told to him by traveling priests. From a young age, Edward displayed a great thirst for knowledge, often preferring books and sermons to working in the fields. His parents encouraged his education when a local clergyman noticed his talent and began teaching him to read and write.
As he grew older, Edward became fascinated not only by the teachings of the Church but also by the mysteries of the arcane, which the older travelers sometimes spoke of in whispers. However, his peaceful life was shattered when his village suffered the hardships of war and instability in the region, forcing many families, including his own, to scatter. After losing his home and struggling with uncertainty, Edward decided to leave his village in search of purpose and understanding.
He traveled to larger cities within Azuras and eventually beyond, seeking both religious enlightenment and the forbidden knowledge of the arcane arts. Edward now walks the paths of Almaris as an enthusiastic young man, uncertain of his ultimate destiny, but determined to find it through knowledge and devotion.
Edward is silent for a moment, observing the old woman's gaze, his expression cautious yet respectful. He approaches slowly and sits in the worn wooden chair, clasping his hands as if in prayer or contemplation. His gaze sweeps over the dimly lit cabin, taking in every detail as if searching for hidden meaning.
"I don't come from a place of importance, nor do I pretend to know what fate has in store for me," he says finally, his voice calm but uncertain. "I am nothing more than a wanderer seeking answers in a world that doesn't freely offer them." He lowers his gaze briefly, as if weighing his words.
He exhales softly, composing himself before continuing. "If you truly awaited me, then perhaps there is a path before me that I have yet to discover." Edward looks back at the woman, curiosity now replacing his hesitation. "Tell me what you see, for I am not afraid to hear the truth, even if it changes the course of my life."
