Liqquidity

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

John, no stranger to these sorts of abodes that better-sorts gave a wide mirth, eyes the old hag with an inquisitive glare. With a thought in his mind and a shrug, he sits atop the cushion and lets out a sigh. He figured her for another hag who had lost her wits, for who would expect one such as he? But then again, no harm in conversation. And maybe she would buy him a drink or three, his purse bearing more dust than Mina.
"Aren't much of a story", he drawled, rubbing at the onyx scrabble on his cheek. "But I s'posing if thar a drink in it for me, I's will tell all there's to tell, 'n maybe come up with a poem or song to boot"

As some non-descript drinks arrive, and after a long draw of the flagon, he recounts his tale...
"I awoke in some gutter of Nau Valdev, in this kingdom the folks call Haense, some few days ago. I sat there awhile, thinkin on how I got there. Probably a night of too much drink, eh? Buts then as I gots to pondering, I couldn't ponder for the life of me just about 'nything- what land I found myself in, the peculiar accents of the folks walkin' about, nor hardly even me parents, assumin' I had some. Couldn't even recount my name, as it were! ... Now don't look at me askew, I tell it true. I did remembers some particular things, like my numbers and figures, and how to speak, as you might tell. But asides that, I was 'bout as fogged as a lantern-fly seeing the lantern. The hunger in my belly gots me up and out that gutter, bit bewildered as it was, and set about. Folks din't seem to know me, but wanted a name. John's a good name ain't it? So 'tis what I bore. And from whereabouts they'd ask me? Well, hardly that I know, nowhere's good as anywhere I figure. So John of Nowhere I become, perhapsin' I'll  figure out the rest.

So ya old boot, you's the first to seem like they know me. What were ya expecting of me?"

(( Hopefully not too cliche but I thought a character without too concrete a background would be a good way to familiarize myself with the world of Lord of the Craft ! I figure this as a kind of starter character to immerse myself and find out more about the lore, with his true background being some peasant boy who got a good bonk on the head and forgot his story, but hey maybe something cool will come up in roleplay to fill that out! ))
