    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is the act of using ooc [out of character] information in rp to give yourself an unfair advantage.

    Example: Somebody asking for a characters weaknesses out of rp and uses that weakness IRP out of nowhere.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is the act of using overpowered and unrealistic actions, whether inside or outside of combat.

    Example: Somebody doing things completely out of their characters ability to give themselves and unfair advantage.

Havardr would take the short and sturdy steps off the boat. Feeling the offset as his heavy body would come off of the wooden deck of the ship. Taking in a heavy whiff of the air, the aroma of fish and leather would stain his nostrils. Giving off a light grunt Havardr would take the few steps into the road. Staring around he spotted the man attempting to speak to him. ``Well. I'm here for work. I'm a mercenary searching for a job in this crowded city. Shouldn't be too difficult correct?`` He walked along now, not caring for reply.
