Her father, a high elf called Aildred, grew up feeling separated from the rest of his family. They were all cold, calculating, and seemed to think they were better than everyone else. Aidred, on the other hand, was exactly the opposite. He was humble boy, intrigued by nature and Aspectism, a religion that was banned in his family. His parents would often become angry at him for losing track of time while in nature and being late to various events. One night, after an intense argument with his father about the book on Aspectism he had been found reading, he decided that he had had enough, and fled. After days of walking(and marveling at trees for hours on end), Aildred ended up in Laureh’lin, where he met Airywyn Eltras, Äeryndil’s mother. They were together for years, and one day, Äeryndil was introduced to the world.
Shortly after she was born, however, a war between Laureh’lin and the Silver State begun. Aildred left home to fight in the war, and was lost in the chaos. Airywyn, who had finally given up waiting for him to come home, was devastated. She would not eat or drink for weeks at a time, and let the garden that she and Äeryndil worked so hard on die. Äeryndil, who was eight, was confused but determined to help. She began to learn how to fight in secret, and one night, many years later, Äeryndil left a note on their wooden table saying that she was going to go help in the army. In the note, she promised to make it home safely and find Aidred, her father.
Äeryndil ended up serving the war for two and a half years. She had not managed to find her father, but had made it out alive and safe. She came home to an empty house.
Äeryndil managed to make a living for herself in the years to come. She was of course confused and miserable, but had learned from her experiences in the war to persevere. Today, she lives in a humble home with a large garden out back. She doesn’t know what happened to her mother or father, but is still determined to find out. What happened to them, who she will meet, and the interests she will develop are to be determined.
