Ragnir “The Wildfire” Haenal was born in a large cottage in Renatur, with Farfolk parents. During his upbringing, he was taught to be a hunter by his father, Lagnos, but Ragnir refused to learn. From a young age, he would always run off without his parents’ permission. Eventually, his rebellion waxed heavy upon his parents, and they were forced to exile him. He had a sister, but she died before she could even be named. His troubled childhood and his prideful parents pushed him toward rebellion. When it came to be too much, and he was exiled by his human parents because of his incessant failures at a young age of 19. After his exile, he slowly progressed toward insanity, finding solace in only the most intense of fire. His fascination with flame spread to his personality, giving him a short temper and a twisted smile. He earned his nickname, “The Wildfire”, after burning the woods behind his father’s estate. He was hunted by his family, but that soon changed after he taught himself to fight. His rage finally boiled over, and he ended every trace of his family. He briefly stooped to petty theft, but stepped back after realizing it would only bring the same pain that he was forced to grow up with. Ragnir will never be healed from his self-inflicted burns, and his eyes were stained with his own blood. He gets cold easily, so he stays away from the mountains in which he was born. Ragnir prefers to spend his time in the Talns Grove.
After his troubled youth, Ragnir sought to atone for his misdeeds. He knew the monks of the Cloud Temple might help, so he went there seeking forgiveness. He was turned away, not only for his rude behavior, but also for his gross misconceptions about the Cloud Temple Monks. Ragnir decided his only atonement could be found in the helping of other troubled youth, so he dedicated his life towards those less fortunate. His dedication didn’t last long, however, because he accidentally injured a student that he took on briefly. He was not worthy to exist in this beautiful world, and he knew it. He now looks to find a purpose in this life, and hopes to atone for his sin.
He still rampages from time to time, but has finally settled down, and calmly sits by the fireplace. Will he start his own legacy, beyond that of fire and destruction? Only time will tell.
