    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: the use of information gathered when not in character, for character. Example being if i (being a ranger) were to read a page or book about bowmanship out of game, i could use that knowledge in game to have my character become more efficient or "know" how
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: is the use of unfair or un-realistic actions such as becoming "Invincible" or "godly. Example is having a power to "INSTA KILL" anyone or anything.

(noticed no ranger class, a little bummed but will make do )

 

Shrog is an unusually small highlander/ norlander.At only 5’5 and 127lbs, he is not much to look at. His long black hair, which hangs to the top of his shoulders is normally unkept, messy at best. His skin is fairly pale even though he spends most of his time in the sun. His eyes are of a strange blue and green color, which he has always wondered why?. The most unsual feature is his ears, the tops of which appear to be snipped off at an angle. This was acquired thanks to a thief in the city of Berr’lin. His ancestors are  Originally from the island of Asul (as far as he knows). Maybe old archives might tell him?  With no real goals or desires, he wonders from city to city, in hopes to find purpose. A self claimed “Swordsman”, he takes on oddjobs such as bounties, monster hunts and even the occasional cat rescue (because cats need love to). No real place to go or call home, this wanderer may be lost for life.

Physical Description: short at 5'5, dark black hair, sculpted face with an unusual narrow chin. top of ears snipped, eyes of both blue and green.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

Almost there!

  • Your definitions of Powergaming and Metagaming are incorrect. Refer to this article for more information for these terms, and re-word your responses.
  • The islands of Asul have been gone for hundreds of years, and the timeline doesn’t quite match Shrog’s or his parents’ age. Perhaps include a different reference to the lore, or clarify you possibly just meant his ancestors?

Also, worry not, you can be a ranger in-game. There is no class system, and most things are done through RP.
