You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
"I- uh, hello. My name is Ley-Ite, most simply call me Light, however." He finishes quickly, eyes narrowing as he scans the form of the old woman, naturally suspicious. After a while he turns to absorb his surroundings. on guard in the unfamiliar environment, he continues. "To be honest, I don't remember much, I know who I am, what I am, but I know little past that, glimpses of my mother's face, reminders of the love that she gave me unconditionally..." He pauses, sadness flashes in his eye at the faded memory, he quickly pushes down the feeling, taking a deep breath and begins again, "I recall hunting for food, for my mother and myself, my father, I don't remember him, though I suppose he must have passed." Silence takes him again, deep in thought, not knowing how to feel for the loss of the man he can't remember. "I grew to be able to hug the shadows, as though they were a close friend, sneaking up on my prey, usually rabbits but the occasional deer as well, striking them down swiftly before preparing them for cooking." A flash of pride shines in his eyes remembering how his mother would praise him for a good hunt. He falls into thought, a sudden memory striking him, "We were happy, until, until mother became sick. I hadn't the necessary knowledge in herbs to help her... she, she passed soon after falling ill." He grows silent, pain clear in his eyes sad for the loss of the woman that he called mother. "And that brings me here, I don't remember anything more than that." He stops, eyes brought back to a narrow as he looks at the woman again as silence falls over the two.
