    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: It breaks immersion and becomes boring if you tell the knight who killed the king, especially when your character had no way of knowing.

Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Example: Belladeon puts down his helmet and begins to speak. "Well, I am a mercenary from the Kingdom of Nordland, where I was born and raised. I am a follower of the Red Faith and value honor and loyalty above all else. I also enjoy writing small poems." He takes out a small notebook and hands it to the woman as he continues. "I came here to explore the world for myself and to help as many people as I can."

"Oh, I just, uh…" you stutter, tensing up. You eye the crone, then back outside the tent. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until…
