Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
The woman tightens her sash that binds her clothes and offers a curtsy towards the old hag.
"I'm looking for magic, and I thought you would be the one to find, witch. I'm a woman seeking knowledge. My brothers all had the privellege to go to school and learn all sorts of amazing things while I was stuck at home taking care of them, my father, and the house. My mother and aunts might have been content with that sort of life, but I wanted something more. I stole my brothers books, read them, and sold them, all to make it here to you right now."
She looked up with determination. "I won't let you down if you help me lift myself up."
