Focus on working together, letting other characters react to what your character does, and making sure that the results are fair and believable.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming breaks the atmosphere of roleplaying and gives a character an unfair advantage by letting them know things about other characters that they shouldn't know. It breaks the story's structure, keeps other players from interacting naturally, and can make people in the group angry or frustrated.

Physical Description: At 6'2" and 180 lbs, he has silver eyes and gray skin. Slim and athletic, he wears black leather armor and a dark cloak.
Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

((How do you respond?))

"Oh, umm…" Wolfgar trips a bit, his eyes racing between the old lady and the dark doorway. The heavy air wraps around him, making his shoulders feel tight.
"I've traveled paths that freak people out, made some deals... got a few too many scars as well." He shifts around on the cushion, feeling her gaze on him.
"So, what do you notice when you look at me? Who do you think I am?" Wolfgar catches her gaze, feeling the pressure in his chest grow.

If you need to learn more about dark elf lore and the physical traits that are found within that race please take a look on this page. The issue here are the silver eyes, and the skintone being a bright purple pink. Dark elf skin tones range from ashen gray to almost jet black - and if there is a purple or blue hue to their skin tone, it is very minor tinge.
